What Is Mesothelioma?

The tissue that lines your lungs, stomach, heart, and other organs is called mesothelium. Mesothelioma, also known as malignant mesothelioma, is cancer of that tissue. It usually starts in the lungs, but can also start in the abdomen or other organs. Malignant mesothelioma is rare but serious. Most people who get it have worked or lived in places where they inhaled or swallowed asbestos particles. After being exposed to asbestos, it usually takes a long time for the disease to form.

Pathophysiology, Underlying Causes & Clinical Presentation

Biological expression of Mesothelioma (C45.9, Lungs & Asthma) reflects bronchial smooth-muscle hyperresponsiveness [Mesothelioma C45.9]. Cross-referenced with NIH MeSH (Mesothelioma), longitudinal control is benchmarked via Resting Pulse Oximetry in Mesothelioma (C45.9: (SpO2)).

Common Symptoms & Clinical Signs

  • • Pain under the rib cage
  • • Pain, swelling, or lumps in the abdomen
  • • Presentation of Mesothelioma (C45.9): prolonged recovery from in Mesothelioma (C45.9: viral respiratory infections)
  • • Secondary Mesothelioma clinical sign: declining stair-climbing stamina in Mesothelioma (C45.9: or frequent rescue)
